Commercial HVAC Service Technician

About the role

A growing service team in Charleston, SC is looking for an experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technician. The role suits someone who enjoys troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining complex commercial HVAC systems while delivering strong customer service. It is a full-time position with pay of $25.00-$38.00 per hour depending on experience.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose, service, repair and maintain DX systems up to 100 tons, packaged water-cooled air conditioning up to 150 tons, water-source heat pumps, CRAC units, gas- and electric heating systems up to 150 tons, pneumatic/electronic/DDC controls, air handling units and VAV systems.
• Perform equipment startups, read gauges and controls to monitor performance, and adjust valves, pumps and controls to optimise efficiency.
• Repair or replace defective components and carry out preventative maintenance such as cleaning coils, replacing fan belts and cleaning ductwork.
• Install electrical wiring, connect HVAC components and complete startup services for new equipment.
• Maintain accurate service records, report job status to dispatch and provide professional customer service.

Required profile

• High school diploma, GED or trade school certification.
• EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification (required).
• At least 4 years of commercial HVAC service experience.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record; ability to work on-call for emergencies.
• Must be authorised to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
