College Success Advisor – Academic Advising

About the role

The College Success Advisor (CSA) supports sophomore transitions and provides proactive advising for students on academic probation within the College of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences. Reporting to the Director of First‑Year Success, the CSA works closely with faculty advisors, the First‑Year Success office, and campus support centers.

Key responsibilities

• Guide sophomores through the critical transition to their second year.
• Provide early‑intervention advising for students on academic probation from sophomore through senior year.
• Collaborate with faculty, career exploration, and learning centers to coordinate holistic student support.
• Utilize early‑alert systems and data‑informed practices to identify at‑risk students.
• Maintain accurate advising records and communicate student progress to relevant offices.

Required profile

• Master's degree from an accredited university by the hire date.
• Experience in academic advising, student success, or a comparable student‑facing role.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities across academic departments.
• Familiarity with early‑alert systems and data‑driven advising preferred.
• Experience with at‑risk or first‑generation student populations is a plus.

Required skills

• Knowledge of financial aid processes and student support resources.
• Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and campus partners.
