CNC Team Lead - Precision Optics

About the role

CACI is hiring a CNC Team Lead for its Optical Manufacturing team in Danbury. The role ensures schedule, quality and cost objectives are met by coordinating CNC personnel and by hands-on machining of precision optics on a variety of CNC machines. It is a regular, full-time position with no travel required.

Key responsibilities

• Manufacture high-precision optics on CNC equipment according to manufacturing, process and technical documentation, including blocking and unblocking optical materials
• Develop, train and coach employees so they are responsible and accountable for their own and the team's performance
• Prioritize production schedules based on product induction, equipment efficiency and materials supply, and identify areas for improvement
• Establish program check and verification methods for the work center
• Interpret technical drawings and work instructions
• Troubleshoot machine anomalies, identify problems and escalate them

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 5+ years of relevant manufacturing experience
• Proven experience leading, motivating, coaching and training others
• Ability to speak up and escalate issues as required
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI U.S. Government security clearance

Required skills

• Familiarity with hand tools, manual measurement tools, computer-controlled test equipment, Windows Explorer, Excel and Word
• Strong math aptitude
• Knowledge of Fagor, Fanuc, Siemens, HEIDENHAIN or similar CNC controls is a plus
• Previous experience with Mastercam or Vericut is a plus
