CNC Machinist – 2nd Shift

About the role

The CNC Machinist is responsible for independently setting up and operating CNC machining centers on the 2nd shift. The role requires interpreting engineering blueprints, performing in‑process inspections, and using CAD/CAM software to produce precision components while supporting continuous improvement and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Set up CNC machines, install fixtures, select tools and optimize machining parameters.
• Generate and edit CNC programs using Mastercam or equivalent CAM software.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings to develop effective machining strategies.
• Perform dimensional inspections with micrometers, calipers, height gauges and document results.
• Conduct routine maintenance, minor repairs and report equipment issues.
• Operate overhead cranes, gantries and forklifts to move materials safely.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent with 1‑3 years technical training.
• At least three years CNC machine shop experience, including one year of setup and programming.
• Ability to work the 2nd shift (1:30 pm – 12 am).
• Familiarity with Machine Shop Safety and OSHA requirements.
