CNC Field Service Technician

About the role

Tsugami America, a division of Morris Group, Inc., is looking for a Field Service Technician to support the installation, maintenance and repair of Tsugami CNC machine tool equipment at customer facilities across New England. The role suits recent technical school graduates, early-career technicians and people with hands-on mechanical or electrical aptitude who want to learn and grow.

Key responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites to assist with installation, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of CNC machine tool equipment and controls
• Identify performance issues and help with preventative maintenance to maximise machine uptime
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic components
• Use machine manuals and technical documentation to research and resolve issues
• Communicate professionally with customers on service status, next steps and completed work
• Complete service documentation accurately (service reports, install reports)
• Build relationships with customers, suppliers and internal teams
• Take part in technical, safety and manufacturer-led training and seminars

Required profile

• Mechanical, electrical or maintenance experience (academic, internship, military or hands-on); recent technical school graduates welcome
• Interest in CNC machinery, automation or manufacturing technology
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office and service documentation tools)
• Strong communication skills and a customer-focused mindset
• Valid driver's license required
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs with assistance, work in industrial environments and wear PPE; safety-sensitive role

Required skills

• Basic ability to read technical drawings and schematics (training provided)
• Familiarity with hand tools and precision measuring equipment is a plus
• Problem-solving skills and attention to detail
