Clinical Supervisor (Community Living Fund)

About the role

IOA provides community-based care for aging adults and adults with disabilities through its Community Living Fund (CLF) programs. The Clinical Supervisor provides clinical supervision, training and evaluation of CLF Intensive Care Management (ICM) staff, including Master's-level social workers, occupational therapists and money managers. This is a temporary, per diem role with variable hours up to a maximum of 19 per week, depending on department needs.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise, train and evaluate ICM staff and take part in hiring and termination decisions
• Monitor program and staff compliance with regulatory requirements, such as those of the San Francisco Department of Aging and Adult Services
• Ensure high-quality, timely care and complete, accurate clinical documentation
• Organize care planning meetings, supervise staff and run orientation and training, including joint home visits and documentation review
• Develop and coordinate an education and training plan, and set up quality assurance mechanisms such as chart reviews and peer review
• Work with community partners, keep up with Medi-Cal and Medicare regulations, and ensure CLF funds are used only after community resources are exhausted
• Provide backup coverage for clinical staff and supervise social work interns with local schools
• Help set annual goals, develop policies and procedures, and expand knowledge of care management, geriatrics and gerontology

Required profile

• Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) or a comparable social services discipline
• Five years of experience working directly with disabled adults and/or the frail elderly
• Proven ability to supervise intensive care management staff and to train staff
• Understanding of behavioral health services, community resources and the health and psychosocial needs of the population served
• Willingness to lead peers, mentor junior staff and take on program development projects
