Clinical Speech Pathologist Fellow – Outpatient

About the role

The Clinical Speech Pathologist Fellow provides diagnostic speech pathology services and evaluates communication and swallowing functions for both adult and pediatric patients in an outpatient setting.

Key responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic speech pathology test procedures and evaluate communication and swallowing function under supervision.
• Interpret and report test results to facilitate medical diagnosis.
• Provide counseling and education to patients and families about communication disorders.
• Develop therapeutic plans, including frequency, focus, prognosis, and duration of therapy.
• Select and fit assistive speech devices to improve patient communication.
• Conduct re‑evaluations to assess progress and maintain detailed service records.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Speech/Language Pathology.
• Eligibility for a Conditional Speech‑Language Pathology License in Ohio at start date.
• Meet academic and practicum guidelines set by the American Speech‑Language‑Hearing Association (CCC‑SLP).
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and perform manual dexterity tasks.
