Clinical Research Nurse – Oncology Trials

About the role

We are seeking a Clinical Research Nurse to support phase I‑III oncology clinical trials at the Lombardi Clinical Trials Office within the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center. The role involves coordinating trial activities, ensuring patient safety, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate assigned oncology clinical trials throughout the entire lifecycle.
• Recruit and screen study participants, obtain informed consent, and document eligibility.
• Perform study‑related procedures, assessments, and specimen collection while adhering to Good Clinical Practice.
• Manage patient care across outpatient, inpatient, and home settings, including triage, symptom management, and follow‑up.
• Document all clinical data in medical records and research charts in accordance with protocol and sponsor requirements.
• Provide clinical and administrative support to research coordinators and other nursing staff.
• Ensure site compliance with regulatory requirements and update the Clinical Trials Management System with patient information.
• Educate patients about trial participation, treatments, potential side effects, and required testing.
• Conduct in‑service training for staff on trial procedures and protocols.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with experience in oncology or clinical research.
• Knowledge of trial phases I‑III and regulatory guidelines.
• Ability to communicate effectively with investigators, participants, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for accurate documentation.

Required skills

• Good Clinical Practice (GCP) compliance.
• Use of Clinical Trials Management System (CTMS).
