Clinical Research Assistant I

About the role

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas is hiring a part-time Clinical Research Assistant I who works under the direction of an investigator with general supervision. The main focus is providing ongoing data management for local and national research studies, and the candidate may also coordinate observational (non-treatment) studies.

Key responsibilities

• Patient screening for eligible studies and recruitment through phone interviews
• Data collection and running cognitive experiments in an outpatient setting
• Entering data into case report forms or other data collection systems and assisting with data queries and edits
• Maintaining study-level documentation, curating and organizing data and lab notebooks, and keeping databases accurate
• Scheduling research visits and understanding visit schedules, criteria and protocol requirements
• Preparing annual reports and IRB modifications, including reportable events
• Reviewing and abstracting information from medical records, including eligibility criteria
• Ordering and maintaining research supplies and equipment
• Collecting and processing specimens, and performing study procedures such as phlebotomy, vital signs and EKGs with training and supervision
• Assisting with study closeout and other duties as assigned

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED
• BLS (Basic Life Support) may be required depending on study protocols or affiliate location
• CPR AED may be required depending on affiliate location
