Clinical Pharmacist – Pain Management

About the role

Join a multidisciplinary pain management team at Naval Medical Center Camp Lejeune as a Clinical Pharmacist. You will provide direct patient care to active‑duty service members, veterans, and their families, focusing on safe and effective pain therapy in a high‑tempo military treatment facility.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct medication reviews and reconciliation for chronic pain patients, addressing non‑compliance, abuse, or diversion.
• Perform clinical interviews with patients, families, and caregivers to develop individualized pharmacotherapeutic plans.
• Prescribe and manage drug therapy in accordance with MTF policy, including auricular acupuncture when required.
• Collaborate with physicians on drug therapy recommendations, polypharmacy management, and patient education.
• Order and interpret laboratory tests to monitor therapeutic response and adverse effects.
• Document patient interactions, education, and medication adherence strategies.

Required profile

• Licensed pharmacist with hands‑on clinical experience, preferably in pain management.
• Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from an accredited institution.
• Completion of an ASHP‑ or ACCP‑accredited clinical pharmacy residency or equivalent training.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team in a fast‑paced environment.
