Clinical Pharmacist

About the role
The Clinical Pharmacist provides comprehensive pharmaceutical care to patients across the Duke University Health System. Working on rotating PRN shifts, the pharmacist ensures safe, effective medication therapy, supports clinicians, and maintains compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Review and monitor patient medication therapy and orders for safety, efficacy, and appropriateness.
- Prepare, label, and dispense medications in accordance with physicians' prescriptions and legal regulations.
- Maintain accurate dispensing records and oversee medication charge/credit systems.
- Provide drug information and education to caregivers, patients, and students.
- Collect data, generate reports, and recommend improvements to medication processes.
- Ensure proper procurement, storage, and availability of medications.
- Supervise technical personnel involved in medication preparation and dispensing.
- Support investigational drug programs, including preparation, labeling, and documentation.
