About the role

The Indian Health Service is seeking a Clinical Pharmacist to provide direct pharmaceutical care to patients, serving as the primary source of clinical medication information. The role involves managing chronic disease patients and delivering acute care within a federal health setting.

Key responsibilities

• Interpret and dispense prescribed medications, ensuring accurate labeling and patient safety.
• Provide specialized counseling for chronic conditions such as diabetes, asthma, and hypertension.
• Maintain pharmacy files, patient records, inventory logs, and controlled‑substance documentation.
• Compound and prepare medications according to physician orders.
• Participate as a consultant on therapeutic, research, and infection‑control committees.
• Adhere to on‑call, rotating shift, and standby duties as required.

Required profile

• U.S. citizenship and compliance with Selective Service registration.
• Valid pharmacy license and ability to obtain/maintain medical staff clinical privileges.
• Eligibility for E‑Verify verification.
• Willingness to comply with employee health policies, including vaccinations.
