About the role

The Clinical Pharmacist I – General Pharmacy delivers comprehensive pharmacy services within a hospital environment, ensuring safe, effective, and cost‑efficient medication therapy for patients across inpatient and ambulatory settings.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and dispense drug orders according to physician requests, policies, and protocols.
• Interpret verbal and written orders and accurately document them in the electronic medication record.
• Maintain complete and accurate patient medication records.
• Compound and dispense non‑sterile and sterile products, including chemotherapy and parenteral nutrition.
• Issue controlled substances to patient‑care areas and keep required records.
• Provide ambulatory pharmaceutical care, including anticoagulation management and medication reconciliation.
• Monitor drug therapy for interactions, contraindications, and appropriate dosing.
• Perform pharmacokinetic consults and renal dosing adjustments per hospital protocols.
• Detect and report adverse drug reactions promptly.
• Support formulary management and promote rational drug selection.
• Provide drug information and education to staff, patients, and families.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and verify their daily activities.
• Maintain a current pharmacist license and continuing‑education documentation.

Required profile

• Active pharmacist license with up‑to‑date continuing‑education records.
• Ability to meet OneCHRISTUS competency standards (Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders).
• Willingness to attend staff meetings and complete competency assessments.
• Experience supervising pharmacy support personnel.
