About the role
The University of Miami seeks a fully trained general surgeon to serve as a Clinical Instructor in Surgery for one year. The instructor will collaborate with senior faculty and residents to teach advanced laparoscopic techniques while maintaining high standards of patient care.
Key responsibilities
- Admit, evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with general medical problems.
- Perform and teach essential surgical procedures, including advanced laparoscopic surgery.
- Lead resident teams on inpatient wards for at least eight weeks.
- Provide supervision, mentorship, and role‑modeling for surgical residents.
- Document patient care accurately and timely.
- Respond to emergent situations following hospital protocols.
Required profile
- Board‑eligible general surgeon with a full medical license to practice in Florida.
- Committed to a one‑year instructional period learning from senior faculty.
- Ability to teach, supervise, and collaborate with residents without disrupting operating‑room flow.
