Clinic Associate - Mental Health

About the role

Catholic Charities of Long Island seeks a full‑time Clinic Associate to support mental health services. You will greet clients, manage insurance and billing, and ensure smooth clinic operations while embodying the organization’s mission of dignified, compassionate care.

Key responsibilities

• Greet clients, verify insurance, and collect fees.
• Schedule and confirm appointments according to provider availability.
• Triage calls for crisis intervention.
• Communicate payment issues to the Clinic Coordinator.
• Perform billing functions and generate financial reports.
• Handle office tasks such as word processing, photocopying, faxing, and data entry into Netsmart Avatar.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of office clerical or administrative experience, preferably in healthcare.
• Strong time‑management and prioritization skills.
• Commitment to assisting clients with billing to ensure continuous care.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word.
• Familiarity with standard PC applications and internet use.
• Experience with Netsmart Avatar or similar electronic health record systems.
