About the role
The Client Development Management Team Lead will join GQR’s Locum Tenens division, leading a small team while maintaining an active sales desk. This player‑coach position focuses on generating net‑new contracts, expanding existing accounts, and driving overall team performance.
Key responsibilities
- Identify, qualify, and secure new client relationships within the Locum Tenens market.
- Negotiate contract terms, bill rates, and commercial details to win and grow business.
- Expand business within existing accounts by uncovering opportunities across additional specialties or facilities.
- Lead, mentor, and develop 2‑3 direct reports, providing coaching, call shadowing, and deal‑strategy guidance.
- Hold the team accountable to KPIs such as activity levels, new contracts, placements, and executed agreements.
- Partner with leadership on hiring, onboarding, and training of new team members.
- Share market feedback, client trends, and business‑development insights with internal leadership.
- Maintain accurate records and pipeline activity in internal systems while continuing personal desk management.
Required profile
- Proven experience in both business development and account management.
- Demonstrated success securing net‑new contracts and expanding existing accounts.
- Strong client‑facing sales skills, including negotiation, relationship building, and opportunity development.
- Experience in at least one core specialty such as Primary Care, Behavioral Health, Emergency Medicine, or Anesthesiology.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
- Comfort providing feedback, coaching others, and driving accountability.
- Ability to balance individual production with leadership responsibilities in a fast‑moving environment.
