About the role
The Client Agreements Advisor leads the analysis and response to clients’ non‑standard terms of engagement, ensuring consistency, risk mitigation, and alignment with the firm’s business interests. This position works closely with the Client Agreements team and senior attorneys to review, negotiate, and implement client‑facing contracts.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of firm policies, legal/ethical considerations, and insurance requirements related to agreements.
- Assess engagement letters, outside‑counsel guidelines, and other client contracts to identify potential issues.
- Draft internal assessments and proposed approaches based on evaluations.
- Lead senior attorneys in discussions of issues, considerations, and proposed solutions.
- Prepare client‑facing comments, mark‑ups, and responses to terms.
- Partner with senior attorneys in client negotiations and respond to due‑diligence questionnaires and RFPs.
- Manage the outside‑counsel guidelines database and disseminate key information.
- Conduct extensive research using firm databases and internal subject‑matter experts.
- Collaborate with compliance colleagues on drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various contracts.
- Uphold high standards of confidentiality, discretion, and integrity.
Required profile
- JD preferred.
- Three or more years of law‑firm or equivalent legal experience.
- Extensive experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts.
- Familiarity with client‑firm engagement letters and outside‑counsel guidelines.
- Ability to process, organize, and assess complex information to reach logical conclusions.
- Strong oral and written communication skills for synthesizing complex legal concepts.
- Highly developed business research abilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills to balance stakeholder needs.
- Understanding of global business and legal relationship complexities.

What we offer
- Exempt status with remote work flexibility.
- Salary range $77,000 – $124,000 depending on experience and location.
- Comprehensive benefits package for staff working ≥30 hours/week, including healthcare insurance.
