Cleared Security Flex Officer (Unarmed)

About the role

Allied Universal, a security and facility services company, is hiring a Security Flex Officer in San Antonio, Texas. The officer serves and safeguards clients in sectors such as healthcare, education and finance. The position is flexible: shifts can be picked up through the company's shift-pickup platform, and the officer may be asked to work irregular shifts with little or no advance notice.

Key responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in a vehicle
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
• Sound alarms or call the police or fire department in case of fire or unauthorized persons
• Warn violators of rules such as loitering, smoking or carrying forbidden articles
• Permit authorized persons to enter, monitor entrances and exits, and observe departing personnel to prevent theft
• Investigate and report accidents, incidents and suspicious activity, keeping written logs as required
• Aid customers, employees and visitors courteously and make emergency notifications as needed

Required profile

• Active DoD security clearance (Secret or higher); unarmed
• High school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience
• Valid driver's license under Allied Universal driver policy
• At least 18 years old (21 if armed)
• Available to work varying shifts, including holidays, nights and weekends
• Subject to a background investigation and a drug screen as permitted by law

Required skills

• Ability to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
• Effective oral and written communication, active listening and problem solving
• Ability to mediate conflict with tact and diplomacy
• Preferred: multilingual ability (Spanish, Portuguese, French, Arabic) and prior security, military or law enforcement experience
