Class A CDL Hazmat Driver – Safford, AZ

About the role

CTI is seeking experienced Class A CDL drivers with Hazmat and Tank endorsements to transport sulfuric acid, ammonium nitrate and other hazardous materials to mines and aggregate sites across Arizona, New Mexico and Utah.

Key responsibilities

• Load, secure and deliver hazardous products in pneumatic and tanker trailers.
• Perform pre‑ and post‑trip inspections and adhere to FMCSA, MSHA and company safety protocols.
• Operate manual 10‑speed trucks when required and handle trailer hatches and bottom valves.
• Travel to remote mine sites, sometimes staying overnight on short notice.

Required profile

• Valid Class A CDL with Hazmat and Tank endorsements (double/triple preferred).
• At least 23 years old with a clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years, no major violations in 5 years).
• Minimum 1 year tractor‑trailer experience and a valid DOT physical.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lb, climb ladders, and work in hot‑zone chemical environments while wearing required PPE.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and hazmat transportation procedures.
• Proficiency with manual 10‑speed transmission (preferred).
• Ability to operate under FMCSA hours‑of‑service rules and maintain company insurance eligibility.
