Civil Design Engineer – Alaska

About the role

PND Engineers is looking for a licensed Civil Design Engineer to join its Anchorage (or Palmer) office. The role involves leading and supporting civil development for a variety of infrastructure projects across Alaska, from initial reconnaissance through design, bidding and construction support.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including structural, geotechnical, environmental, survey, utility, hydrology, coastal and construction professionals.
• Prepare and oversee engineering deliverables such as plans, specifications, estimates, calculations and design reports.
• Support construction administration, inspections and field coordination.
• Mentor junior engineers, EITs and designers.
• Travel within Alaska for site visits and progress inspections (less than 10% travel).

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET‑accredited program.
• Professional Civil Engineer (PE) registration in Alaska or ability to obtain it within six months.
• Minimum five years of civil engineering experience, preferably in construction, transportation or water/wastewater utilities.
• Strong teamwork, client coordination and communication abilities.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and permanent work authorization in the United States.
