About the role

Marshall Dennehey, an Am Law 200 civil defense firm, is seeking a Civil Defense Attorney to join its Cleveland office. The position is designed for attorneys with 3‑5 years of experience in casualty and professional liability defense, offering meaningful client interaction and a clear development path.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior shareholders in defending general liability, employment, civil rights, and professional liability claims.
• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Participate in discovery, depositions, and trial preparation.
• Collaborate with team members to develop case strategies.
• Maintain client communications and provide regular updates.

Required profile

• Licensed to practice law in Ohio.
• 3‑5 years of litigation experience in civil defense, preferably in casualty, general liability, employment, or civil rights matters.
• Strong analytical, writing, and communication abilities.
• Demonstrated interest in professional growth and teamwork.
