Civil Construction Engineer - Wisconsin

About the role

ISG is hiring a Civil Construction Engineer to join its Transportation and Public Works teams, which serve WisDOT, county and city clients across Wisconsin through offices in La Crosse, Green Bay and Brookfield. The engineer works closely with the Construction Administration leader, Heath Hagner, P.E., and Senior Project Manager Joel Goodenough, and leads projects independently while mentoring project team members. This is a field-based role involving travel to job sites.

Key responsibilities

• Manage WisDOT, county and city transportation construction projects
• Hold pre-construction, public information and weekly construction meetings
• Perform civil engineering calculations and prepare engineering plans, designs and reports
• Oversee construction, including inspections when needed
• Act as liaison with clients, government and regulatory authorities and contractors
• Deliver project documents within budget and schedule while meeting client requirements
• Develop client relationships and business growth
• Mentor project team members and provide technical support
• Assist with detailed design of transportation and municipal infrastructure projects in the office and administer municipal projects

Required profile

• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience
• Strong foundation in public infrastructure administration
• Comfortable leading projects independently and contributing to team growth
• Proven track record and solid references
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record; travel to job sites required
• Adaptable, proactive year-round construction staff

Required skills

• Civil engineering calculations and project administration
• Experience with WisDOT standards and Civil 3D is a plus, not required
