Civil Construction Engineer

About the role

ACCIONA Energía is seeking a Civil Construction Engineer II to oversee civil construction activities for renewable energy projects, ensuring safety, quality, and compliance from construction through commissioning.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee contractor and subcontractor civil construction work to meet project specifications, engineering drawings, QA/QC, contract and code requirements.
• Serve as subject‑matter expert, supporting coordination, engineering reviews and resolution of design, technical and constructability issues.
• Manage civil engineering contractors, define requirements, review drawings and handle RFIs.
• Monitor progress against schedule, identify impacts and recommend recovery actions.
• Lead quality activities, manage NCRs, corrective actions and ensure timely closure of issues.
• Support facility tie‑ins, start‑up, testing, turnover to operations and project closeout.
• Ensure safety and environmental compliance, implement BUILD SAFE standards and conduct root‑cause analyses.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field with 4–6 years of civil or construction engineering experience; EIT preferred.
• Experience in renewable energy or utility‑scale power generation projects is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather, climb ladders, lift up to 50 lb and work at heights up to 300 ft.

Required skills

• Proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
• Familiarity with project management tools such as MS Project or Primavera.

What we offer

• Base salary $100,000‑$120,000 per year plus a 10% annual performance bonus.
