Chief Investment Officer (CIO)

About the role

Innovation Works is seeking a strategic and experienced Chief Investment Officer (CIO) to lead its investment strategy, portfolio management, and venture investment operations. Reporting directly to the CEO, the CIO will shape investment priorities, budgeting processes, and support entrepreneurs across the accelerator, seed, and venture fund portfolios.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic oversight and direction for the investment portfolio and processes.
• Chair the Investment Committee and lead due‑diligence activities, drafting investment memoranda.
• Oversee investment operations, portfolio monitoring, and investor reporting, ensuring timely fund reports and audited financial statements.
• Lead the annual Limited Partner (LP) meeting and supervise the investment team.
• Maintain accurate capitalization tables, financial records, and portfolio data in Salesforce and reporting platforms.
• Expand relationships with investors and strategic partners, supporting fundraising and outreach initiatives.
• Support portfolio companies through networking, investor introductions, and collection activities.
• Collaborate on annual reports, financing trend publications, and development of new funding opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field (required).
• MBA or advanced degree (preferred).
• Demonstrated experience in investment portfolio management, venture capital, private equity, investment banking, or entrepreneurial ecosystems.
• Strong analytical, financial modeling, and leadership abilities.
