About the role
The Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) leads a data‑driven HR function for a complex, multi‑site organization serving vulnerable populations. Reporting to the COO, the CHRO oversees a team of 15 HR professionals and supports more than 850 employees across 22 sites in New York City.
Key responsibilities
- Lead end‑to‑end HR service delivery, ensuring consistency, quality, and responsiveness across employee relations, performance management, benefits, and leave administration.
- Partner with operational leaders to align workforce strategies with site‑specific needs, improving stability and retention.
- Provide timely, actionable workforce insights to executive leadership and the Board.
- Oversee talent acquisition, development, total rewards, and employee engagement programs.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations and maintain a 24/7 operational mindset.
Required profile
- Proven senior HR leadership experience in a multi‑site, 24/7 environment.
- Strong strategic judgment combined with hands‑on operational execution.
- Demonstrated ability to translate data into clear insights and drive implementation.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build confidence in the HR function.
