Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Central State Hospital

About the role

The State of Georgia’s Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is seeking a senior finance leader to oversee all accounting and financial operations at Central State Hospital in Milledgeville. The CFO will guide budgeting, billing, procurement and financial reporting for the hospital.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the hospital’s accounting function and ensure compliance with GAAP, governmental accounting standards and DBHDD policies.
• Direct auditing activities, financial analyses, and investigations across all hospital departments.
• Manage procurement, inventory, warehouse operations and property control systems.
• Supervise, hire, train and evaluate business‑office staff, handling HR and administrative duties.
• Provide expert guidance on complex financial issues and represent the hospital’s financial interests.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in public‑sector finance or large healthcare organizations.
• Proven ability to develop and implement comprehensive accounting programs.
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of governmental auditing standards and statutory accounting requirements.
