Chief Deputy Director of Product Lines

About the role

The Department of Insurance is hiring a Chief Deputy Director of Product Lines in Springfield, Illinois. The position acts in behalf of and with the full authority of the Director, directing and coordinating agency operations and program activities across the Innovation, Market Conduct, Enforcement/Investigations, Property and Casualty Products, Life and Annuities Products and Health Products divisions. It is a full-time, salaried, exempt management position (senior public service admin, class 40070) with anticipated hybrid work, reporting to the headquarters.

Key responsibilities

• Direct, coordinate and review the activities of the six product and market conduct sections through subordinate staff.
• Serve as spokesperson for the Director and Assistant Director at internal and external meetings, often of a sensitive and confidential nature.
• Plan, organize and implement major programs affecting department and division operations.
• Serve as full-line supervisor.
• Serve as liaison with members of the General Assembly.
• Represent the Director on program-related issues and travel to sites for internal and external meetings.

Required profile

• Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; the state does not sponsor employment visas.
