Chef de Partie - Culinary Department

About the role

Delano Miami Beach, a luxury hotel with 171 rooms and food and beverage concepts, is hiring a Chef de Partie. Working under the guidance of the Executive Sous Chef, the Chef de Partie coordinates, supervises and directs all aspects of the Culinary department's food production, keeping Food and Beverage operations profitable and product quality high.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a specific kitchen section efficiently and produce high-quality food.
• Prepare and cook dishes to recipe and standards, keeping consistency and presentation.
• Monitor inventory, order supplies and manage food costs within budget.
• Keep food safety and sanitation standards, and maintain a clean, organized kitchen.
• Supervise and train kitchen staff, and take part in staff evaluations.
• Communicate with other kitchen staff so orders are delivered on time and accurately.
• Handle guest feedback about food quality or service and address issues promptly.
• Maintain kitchen equipment and enforce health and safety regulations through regular inspections.
• Provide clear verbal and written direction to venue teams and stay calm and alert in emergencies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; at least 21 years old.
• At least three years of experience in the Culinary Department, including current hospitality kitchen experience.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with a proven track record of company values.
• Excellent organization, attention to detail and ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced, customer-service-driven environment.
• Ability to stand or walk for an eight-hour shift and to handle stressful situations.
• Fluent reading, writing, speaking and understanding of English; neat, clean and well-groomed appearance.

Required skills

• Intermediate to proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook (preferred).
• Entering and locating work-related information in computer and point-of-sale systems.
• Ability to multitask and work independently while partnering with others.
