Charge Nurse RN – Part‑Time with Sign‑On Bonus

About the role

The Charge Nurse RN will join BVMI’s clinical team to provide high‑quality primary and preventive care to uninsured residents of Bergen County. Working a flexible three‑day, Monday‑Friday schedule, you will supervise nursing staff, manage patient flow, and ensure safe, compassionate care.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise nursing staff, oversee patient flow, and triage daily phone encounters.
• Coordinate scheduling, manage urgent care appointments, and notify the Medical Director of ED referrals.
• Document vital signs, medical histories, and visit information in the EMR.
• Precept new nurses on EMR use, BVMI protocols, and women's health.
• Collaborate with pharmacists, ensure proper medication handling, and maintain equipment.

Required profile

• BSN and current, unrestricted RN license in New Jersey.
• 2–5 years recent experience as a Charge Nurse or Nurse Manager, preferably in primary or ambulatory care.
• Current Adult BLS/CPR certification.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with a large volunteer staff.

Required skills

• Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification.
