Certified Surgical Technologist - Night Shift, Labor and Delivery

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a full-time Certified Surgical Technologist for its Labor and Delivery unit in Celebration, Florida, working the night shift. The technologist anticipates the surgeon's needs, prepares the operating room and supports the surgical team while maintaining safety and quality.

Key responsibilities

• Anticipate the surgeon's needs and keep the circulating nurse informed throughout a procedure
• Assemble supplies, equipment and medications before the procedure
• Monitor aseptic technique and take immediate corrective action for any breaks
• Follow CDC isolation guidelines, use PPE correctly and perform hand washing per policy
• Report environmental concerns and ensure adherence to regulatory standards
• Supervise team members, assist with orientation and training of new personnel, and help with safe operating room turnover
• Take action in emergencies to protect patients, visitors and employees
• Participate in practice changes and quality improvement activities

Required profile

• High school graduate or equivalent; associate degree or technical/vocational school preferred
• Currently enrolled in or has completed an accredited Surgical Technology program
• 2+ years of technical experience preferred; 1+ year of relevant experience preferred
• Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required
• Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend English

Required skills

• Aseptic/sterile technique and knowledge of surgical instrumentation
• Knowledge of common healthcare concepts and procedures, and of regulatory requirements
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Manual keyboarding and visual computer skills

Pay range: $21.77 - $40.48. Additional licensure or certification requirements may apply depending on the unit or state. Florida Level 2 background screening applies to certain positions.
