About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to join its anesthesia team in New Orleans. The CRNA will provide anesthesia care for surgical, obstetrical and other procedures under physician supervision, contributing to the hospital’s mission of service, healing and innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Document patient procedures and incidents accurately.
• Assess patients before, during, and after anesthesia administration.
• Ensure patient safety by following accepted anesthesia techniques.
• Act as a liaison between surgeons, anesthesiologists, co‑workers, patients, and families.
• Participate in department quality‑assurance initiatives and professional development activities.
• Adapt communication and behavior to meet the needs of diverse patient populations.

Required profile

• Master’s degree from an AANA‑accredited nurse anesthesia program.
• License as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in the state of practice.
• Certification through the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA).
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays and on‑call availability.

Required skills

• Computer data entry and retrieval of patient information.
• Proficiency with Windows‑style applications and keyboard use.
