Certified Nursing Assistant – Surgical ICU (Full-Time)

About the role

The University of Miami UHealth Hospital is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to work in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU). This full‑time position involves 12‑hour shifts across days, evenings, nights and weekends, providing direct patient care and support to the nursing team.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients throughout the SICU, implementing care plans established by the RN.
• Provide constant observation for patients requiring heightened safety monitoring.
• Perform receptionist and clerical duties to ensure efficient unit operation.
• Alert RN team members promptly when emergencies arise or patient status changes.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited Certified Nursing Assistant program.
• Valid Florida CNA license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant CNA experience.

Required skills

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Valid Florida Certified Nursing Assistant license.
