Certified Nursing Assistant – On Call, PACU Recovery (Full‑Time)

About the role

The University of Miami Hospital & Clinics is seeking a full‑time Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to work on call in the Post‑Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Recovery area. The role supports patient hygiene, mobility, and basic clinical care while collaborating closely with nursing staff.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene assistance including bedpans, showers, baths, and grooming.
• Assist with meals, feeding, ambulation, turning, and positioning of patients.
• Administer non‑sterile dressings, enemas, douches, surgical preps, ice/heat packs, therapeutic baths, and restraints.
• Perform urine testing, specimen collection, and post‑mortem care.
• Respond promptly to call lights and patient requests.
• Maintain a safe environment, transport patients and equipment, and report conditions to assigned nurses.
• Measure and record intake/output, vital signs, and assist with patient mobility and exercises.
• Adhere to university and unit policies, safeguarding assets and patient confidentiality.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Certified Nursing Assistant license.
• 0–1 year of relevant experience.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to prioritize under pressure, and discretion with confidential information.
• Willingness to work evenings, nights, weekends, and on‑call shifts.
• Commitment to the University’s core values and ability to work independently or in a team.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
