Certified Nursing Assistant – Medical Surgical (Full‑Time)

About the role

The University of Miami Hospital U‑Tower Medical Surgical Nursing unit is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care on a full‑time, 3 × 12‑hour shift schedule. The role supports patients with personal hygiene, mobility, and basic medical tasks while collaborating with nursing staff.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal hygiene, including bedpans, showers, baths, and grooming.
• Provide feeding assistance, ambulation, turning, positioning, and ensure fresh water and nourishment between meals.
• Administer enemas, non‑sterile dressings, surgical prep, ice packs, heat treatments, therapeutic baths, and apply restraints as needed.
• Perform urine testing, specimen collection, post‑mortem care, and respond promptly to call lights.
• Measure and record intake/output, vital signs, and report patient conditions to the assigned nurse.
• Transport patients and equipment, maintain a safe environment, and adhere to unit policies.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Certified Nursing Assistant license.
• 0–1 year of relevant experience.
