Certified Nursing Assistant – Inpatient Critical Care (Full‑Time)

About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join its Inpatient Critical and Progressive Care unit. This full‑time position provides direct patient care in a fast‑paced hospital environment, supporting both critical and progressive care patients.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal hygiene, including bedpans, showers, baths, and grooming.
• Support meals, feeding, ambulation, turning, and positioning of patients.
• Administer non‑sterile dressings, enemas, douches, therapeutic baths, and apply restraints as needed.
• Perform urine testing, specimen collection, and post‑mortem care.
• Respond promptly to call lights and patient requests.
• Transport patients and equipment while maintaining a safe environment.
• Report patient conditions to the assigned nurse and record vital signs, intake, and output.
• Assist patients with walking, exercising, and transferring in and out of bed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Certified Nursing Assistant license.
• 0–1 year of relevant experience (entry‑level acceptable).
• Ability to work evenings, nights, weekends, and 12‑hour shifts.
• Commitment to university values and confidentiality.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
