Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – Surgery – Full‑Time

About the role

The University of Miami Hospitals & Clinics in Doral is seeking a full‑time Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to support surgical patients. You will work 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, providing direct patient care and assisting the nursing team.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal hygiene, including baths, bedpans, urinals, and grooming.
• Support meals, feeding, ambulation, turning, and positioning of patients.
• Administer non‑sterile dressings, enemas, douches, surgical preps, ice/heat packs, and therapeutic baths.
• Perform specimen collection, sugar and acetone urine testing, and post‑mortem care.
• Respond promptly to call lights and patient requests.
• Transport patients and equipment while maintaining a safe environment.
• Report patient conditions to the assigned nurse and record vital signs, intake, and output.
• Assist patients with walking, exercising, and transferring in and out of bed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid State of Florida CNA license.
• 0–1 year of relevant experience.
• Ability to learn new procedures and adapt to changing priorities.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with basic office software and relevant computer applications.
