Certified Nursing Assistant – Acute Care

About the role

Citizens Health is seeking Certified Nursing Assistants to provide basic patient care at Citizens Medical Center, a 25‑bed critical access hospital in Colby, KS. Under RN supervision, CNAs support nursing staff with personal care and comfort of patients.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal hygiene, foley care, bathing, mouth care, and linen changes.
• Support nursing staff with lifting, turning, positioning, feeding, ambulating, and weighing patients.
• Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment, including departmental cleaning.
• Communicate promptly with staff, patients, families, physicians, and ancillary personnel.
• Attend meetings, in‑services, and perform other assigned duties.

Required profile

• Completion of a certified nurse aide program (preferred).
• Basic Life Support certification within one month of hire.
• Ability to interact tactfully with ill patients and their families.
• Knowledge of general nursing service principles and hospital policies.
• Strong interpersonal skills and appropriate personal hygiene.
