Certified Nursing Assistant 3 – Medical Surgical (Full‑Time)

About the role

The University of Miami Hospital is seeking an experienced Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join the Medical Surgical unit on a full‑time basis. You will work 3 × 12‑hour shifts covering days, evenings, nights, and weekends as needed, providing direct patient care in a fast‑paced academic health‑care environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, shaving, and toileting, and provide bedside care including backrubs and positioning.
• Support patients with meals, feeding, ambulation, and mobility, and monitor intake and output.
• Perform basic clinical procedures including enemas, non‑sterile dressings, surgical prep, and application of restraints.
• Collect specimens, conduct sugar and acetone urine tests, and provide post‑mortem care.
• Respond promptly to call lights, report patient conditions to the assigned nurse, and maintain a safe environment.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Certified Nursing Assistant license.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant CNA experience, preferably in a medical‑surgical setting.
