Certified Medication Aide & Behavioral Health Technician

About the role
Thrive Now Recovery Center is seeking a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) who will also serve as a Behavioral Health Technician. You will work under RN/LPN supervision in a residential treatment setting, providing clinical support and direct recovery assistance to individuals recovering from substance use and co‑occurring mental health disorders.
Key responsibilities
- Perform CMA‑scope clinical tasks such as vital sign collection, medication preparation support, observation, and documentation in the EMR.
- Assist patients with daily schedules, group activities, orientation, and wellness rounds.
- Support admissions, intakes, and discharge processes as assigned.
- Conduct safety and room checks, using trauma‑informed, non‑punitive de‑escalation techniques.
- Maintain infection control, medication safety, confidentiality, and compliance with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and Iowa DHS regulations.
Required profile
- Current Certified Medication Aide (CMA) credential.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work under RN/LPN supervision and follow state scope of practice.
- Commitment to a compassionate, evidence‑based recovery environment.
Required skills
- Certified Medication Aide (CMA) certification.
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) documentation.
- Basic clinical skills: vital signs, medication preparation support.
