Certified Medical Assistant (Level 1 & 2)

About the role

The University of Miami Health System is seeking Certified Medical Assistants (MA1 and MA2) to support patient care across several South Florida locations, including West Palm Beach, Miami, and surrounding satellite sites. This full‑time, onsite position offers the opportunity to work in an academic medical center renowned for research, education, and high‑quality patient services.

Key responsibilities

• Perform clinical and administrative duties such as taking vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and maintaining accurate medical records.
• Assist physicians and nurses with routine procedures and patient flow.
• Ensure compliance with infection control, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Provide patient education and support, including basic life support when required.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduation from an approved Medical Assistant program recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
• MA1: No prior experience required; MA2: Minimum two years of relevant experience.
• Current certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, NRCMA) or eligibility to obtain certification within 12 months of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.
