Certified Medical Assistant (KC Metro Area)

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a Certified Medical Assistant for its clinic in Shawnee Mission, Kansas, working a full-time day shift. The role covers front-line patient care, clinic operations support and coordination with physicians and nursing staff.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor physician schedules and organize patient care so visits happen on time.
• Act as the point of contact for daily clinic operations, assessing and resolving issues or escalating them as needed.
• Support relationship-based care and uphold the organization's mission and core values.
• Conduct training sessions, review patient care protocols and ensure compliance with infection prevention guidelines.
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens, room patients, take vital signs, document visit reasons, history and allergies, and assist physicians with examinations and procedures.
• Audit ordered tests to make sure results are received and followed up on in a timely way.
• Monitor nursing supplies and equipment, delegate duties to office staff and manage operational issues.
• Ensure adherence to clinic quality, regulatory, billing and customer service standards, and lead front-line staff in day-to-day clinical operations.

Required profile

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Clinical Medical Assistant (CMAC), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA).
• Basic Life Support / CPR certification.
• 1+ year of related work experience preferred.
