About the role

The University of Miami Health System’s Stem Cell Transplant/Apheresis Clinic is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (MA) to join its team in Miami. This full‑time position supports patient care under the direct supervision of a licensed physician, delivering compassionate, culturally competent services in a fast‑paced clinical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist patients with healthcare management and clinical procedures, adhering to evidence‑based standards of quality and safety.
• Provide hands‑on care, including vital signs, specimen collection, and preparation for procedures, while following regulatory and institutional policies.
• Recognize and respond to emergencies, maintain accurate documentation, and support the nursing staff and physician in daily operations.
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and team members, ensuring a safe and healing environment.
• Participate in unit meetings, training sessions, and quality‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Certified Medical Assistant credential (MA‑1) and eligibility to work in the United States.
• Ability to work under direct physician supervision and collaborate with nurses and other staff.
• Commitment to ethical practice, patient confidentiality, and the mission of UHealth.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a timely manner.

Required skills

• Proficiency in basic clinical procedures such as phlebotomy, EKG, and specimen handling.
