Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – Onsite in Okinawa, Japan

About the role

Arcetyp LLC is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to work onsite at a United States government medical facility in Okinawa, Japan. The role supports clinical operations, patient flow, and documentation under the direction of a government supervisor.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms and ensure all equipment is functional before patient arrival.
• Obtain and document patient vital signs, medical history, allergies, and chief complaints.
• Assist providers during examinations and perform ordered diagnostic procedures such as EKGs, urine dip sticks, and phlebotomy.
• Transport patients, manage chart signatures, and administer medication after physician verification.
• Enter demographic and clinical data into the computer system and handle telephone messages.
• Maintain exam room stock, perform routine cleaning, and report unsafe equipment.
• Operate medical devices including automatic blood pressure monitor, hand‑held nebulizer, 12‑lead EKG machine, electronic thermometer, IV infusion pump (setup only), and tympanometer.
• Participate in emergency preparedness drills, peer‑review activities, and the Family Advocacy Program.

Required profile

• Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification.
• Ability to work onsite in Okinawa, Japan, under a U.S. government supervisor.
• Willingness to follow clinic policies, emergency procedures, and training requirements.
