Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) – ACSP

About the role

Join BAYADA’s Bloomfield team as a Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) to provide compassionate personal care and household support to adults across several New Jersey cities. You will follow a registered nurse’s care plan to help clients stay safe, independent, and comfortable at home.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, and toileting.
• Provide light housekeeping, laundry, and bed making.
• Prepare meals and assist with feeding.
• Support range‑of‑motion exercises.
• Give medication reminders.
• Help with ambulation and transfers, including use of mechanical lifting devices or a Hoyer lift.

Required profile

• Demonstrated empathy, patience, kindness and respect.
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• Valid Social Security Number and government ID.
• Verifiable work history with at least one year of recent experience.
• Professional references from colleagues or supervisors.
• Completed tuberculosis screening (PPD, QuantiFERON, or chest X‑ray).

Required skills

• Use of mechanical lifting devices (e.g., Hoyer lift).
