Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor (CADAC) – Full-Time

About the role

Renewal Falls Recovery Center is seeking a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADAC) to join its clinical team in Cedar Falls, Iowa. This full‑time position focuses on delivering person‑centered, evidence‑based substance use disorder treatment and supporting patients on their recovery journey.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct individual and group counseling sessions for clients with substance use disorders.
• Complete clinical assessments, screenings, and admission components within credential scope.
• Develop, implement, and regularly update individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients and the interdisciplinary team.
• Facilitate evidence‑based, recovery‑oriented counseling groups.
• Provide education on relapse prevention, coping skills, recovery planning, and related topics.

Required profile

• Current certification as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADAC).
• Passion for substance use disorder treatment and person‑centered care.
• Ability to work collaboratively with medical, clinical, peer, and case‑management staff.
• Commitment to trauma‑informed, ethical behavioral health practice.

Required skills

• Knowledge of evidence‑based substance use disorder interventions.
• Experience facilitating group therapy sessions.
• Strong clinical assessment and treatment planning abilities.
