Central Sterile Processing Technician – Full-time

About the role

The University of Miami UHealth/SoLé Mia is seeking a full‑time Central Sterile Processing Technician to support surgical and procedural services. The technician will ensure that all medical instruments and supplies are properly decontaminated, sterilized, assembled, and delivered to clinical areas, maintaining patient safety and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, process, stock, and distribute sterile supplies and instruments.
• Clean, wrap, sterilize, store, and transport equipment used in patient care.
• Set up decontamination and assembly workstations daily following standard operating procedures.
• Assemble case carts, emergency carts, and minor‑procedure kits for nursing and ancillary departments.
• Document sterilization cycles and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Adhere to infection‑control policies and universal‑precautions PPE protocols.
• Participate in continuous process‑improvement and quality‑system activities.

Required profile

• Competency in at least one area of sterile processing.
• Ability to follow established safety and infection‑control procedures.
• Attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment.
