About the role

The Central Sterile Processing Technician 3 is responsible for preparing, cleaning, sterilizing, and distributing medical equipment and supplies used in patient care at UHealth Tower. The role ensures that surgical instruments and case carts are ready for procedures while maintaining strict infection‑control standards.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, process, stock, and distribute supplies for surgical and ancillary departments.
• Clean, wrap, sterilize, store, and transport instruments and equipment following established protocols.
• Set up decontamination and assembly workstations daily and assemble minor‑procedure instrumentation.
• Check equipment functionality, report malfunctions, and maintain documentation of sterilizers.
• Maintain accurate supply records, logbooks, and shift reports.
• Participate in continuous process improvement and adhere to Joint Commission, AAMI, and AORN guidelines.

Required profile

• Competency in at least two areas of sterile processing.
• Strong adherence to infection‑control and universal‑precautions protocols.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and report equipment issues promptly.
• Commitment to high‑quality customer service for internal department requests.
