Central Fill Pharmacy Technician

About the role

Genoa Healthcare, a pharmacy care services company within Optum and UnitedHealth Group, is hiring a Central Fill Pharmacy Technician in Mesa, Arizona. The technician supports all functions of the Genoa mental health pharmacy, mainly by dispensing medical prescriptions and handling necessary clerical duties, under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist. Hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm, with an 8-hour shift and lunch from 12:30pm to 1:00pm.

Key responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to consumers and clinic staff
• Fil prescriptions and make them available for verification under the registered pharmacist's supervision
• Order, receive and store incoming pharmacy supplies
• Receive and process wholesaler medication orders
• Verify medication stock and enter data to maintain inventory records
• Work with the pharmacist to keep the pharmacy compliant with federal and state requirements
• Perform departmental clerical duties and communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing

Required profile

• Active, unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license in Arizona, or an active Trainee Technician License, or ability to obtain one within 60 days of employment
• Reliable transportation
• Preferred: National Pharmacy Technician Certification and pharmacy/prescription data entry experience
