Category/Sourcing Manager (IT)

About the role

Puget Sound Energy's Corporate Shared Services team is hiring a Category/Sourcing Manager for its Washington locations, working on Information Technology category management and strategic sourcing. The role covers enterprise software, SaaS, cloud infrastructure and platforms (IaaS/PaaS), hardware, telecommunications, IT professional services and managed services, partnering with IT, Finance, Information Security, Legal and Contract Management to align technology investments with business outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and evaluate value-generating projects and manage the category portfolio, keeping up to date on market, pricing and supplier dynamics
• Define sourcing strategy, pricing methodology and KPIs/service levels, and build baseline spend data
• Evaluate licensing models, including AI token, credit or usage-based charges
• Run sourcing events: prepare RFI/RFP documentation, lead supplier selection and award decisions, and track value achieved
• Negotiate and execute IT vendor agreements (MSAs, SOWs, software licensing, SaaS, cloud, support and maintenance) with Contract Management and Legal
• Manage the supplier base and monitor license utilization and vendor commitments

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in finance, supply management, business administration, engineering or a related field, or equivalent education and experience
• 5-7+ years of experience in strategic planning, source-to-pay, procurement governance, spend analytics, category management, strategic sourcing and supplier management
• Desirable: 5-7+ years in sourcing direct/indirect spend or procurement leadership, and experience sourcing and negotiating IT software, SaaS, cloud or IT services agreements

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong negotiation, presentation and analytical skills
• Desirable: familiarity with eProcurement Source-to-Pay tools, eSourcing tools and Source-to-Pay transformation

• Pay range of $94,300 - $156,900, with eligibility for annual goal-based incentive bonuses
