Cash Operations Specialist I/II – Day Shift

About the role

The Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta is seeking a Cash Operations Specialist I/II to join its day‑shift Cash Operations team. In this role you will handle, process, and safeguard large volumes of currency and coin in a highly regulated environment, supporting the Bank’s mission of financial stability.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, process, payout, destroy, and validate currency following Treasury Currency Operations Manual and internal cash procedures.
• Operate high‑speed currency equipment and material handling equipment in compliance with OSHA standards.
• Balance deposits and record financial accounting transactions using the Bank’s accounting operating systems and specialized inventory applications.
• Track inventory, record batch statistics, and manage transfers among internal teams and external customers.
• Obtain and maintain counterfeit certification, performing manual inspection of notes.
• Ensure accurate automated accounting and transfer records and adhere to strict documentation requirements.

Required profile

• Willingness to work onsite on a fixed day‑shift schedule.
• Ability to obtain and retain counterfeit detection certification (semi‑annual testing).
• Capability to operate material handling equipment safely.
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to regulatory controls.

Required skills

• Operation of high‑speed currency processing equipment.
